Interview with HOMEFIT Fairhope

Our CEO, Matthew Foster, sat down with HOMEFIT Fairhope Owner, Hannah Birchfield to learn about her experience so far owning a HOMEFIT Franchise.

What territory are you operating your HOMEFIT franchise?

Fairhope & Daphne, Alabama

Tell us about your background

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama to a typical southern family. I had little to no knowledge around what a health and fitness was. I was overweight basically my entire life and graduated college clocking in at over 220 pounds. Right before graduating college, my dad experienced a life-altering diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer and that's really where my entire brain chemistry changed. My family decided that, while his diagnosis is out of our control and in the Lord's hands, we had the ability to control other aspects of our life. We completely changed our diets, began learning the importance of a healthy diet and started prioritizing ourselves and our futures. Fast forward to now, my dad is alive and doing well, I have lost over 90 pounds and my entire life looks totally different than it did 7 years ago. God completely changed the trajectory of my life with my dad's diagnosis and I couldn't be more happy to have trusted Him and His plan for me.

Why did you choose to start a HOMEFIT franchise?

When it comes to health and fitness, I have two passions - 1. to show people they can do things they never thought they could and 2. to be a representative of a balanced, healthy life in the fitness industry. There is so much noise around health and fitness, so many "right" and "wrong" ways to be healthy - I want to show people that no matter your age, weight, health status, circumstance, etc. that being health and fitness is for everyone.

How has your experience been so far?

Great! Being a new, small business owner comes with it's ups and downs, but overall I have had a really positive experience! The people of Baldwin County are so nice and supportive of small business so I have found a team of people that are my cheerleaders!

What is the most rewarding part of owning a HOMEFIT franchise?

Being trusted to walk into people's homes, being a light in their life and showing them that they CAN do things they never thought they could.

What are your short term goals for your HOMEFIT franchise?

Generally speaking I want to create a lot of brand awareness - I want people to know the HOMEFIT brand and what we do. More specifically, I would love to have 2-3 trainers and 30-40 clients!

What are your long term goals for your HOMEFIT franchise?

I would love to be the #1 personal training company in Baldwin County with over 100 clients and have a team of trainers who love and trust the brand.
